💡What makes a brand distinguishable, uncopiable, irresistible, unique:
Often we are intimated by other brands and think how, on earth, can I compete? What’s unique about me? It’s often the journey that we’ve traveled, the challenges that we’ve overcome, the systems, the steps, the processes that we’ve implemented, to move from point A to B, and so on. If we identify those teachings, take the time to identify what they are, systematize them, and then bring them out so we can teach them and share them, others can adopt and learn those particular tools and techniques. That is really going to set us apart from what other people are doing. It’s not saying that we’re better than everybody else. We’re better placed to support them. Because of the journey that we’ve walked who we are, our mannerisms, our characteristics, and our charisma just connect well with our ideal clients and they resonate with us, they love the style in the experience that we create. And often it’s the things that make us unique and uncopyable that we don’t really recognize as being unique.

💡The meaning of authenticity in the context of personal branding
For Annemarie this is a combination of your attitude, how you approach your core values; those that really drive who you are. It’s your integrity, excellence, and boldness, so really it’s being courageous. It’s the words you use, the mannerism, your body language. All of those different things matter if you want to be consistently on-brand.
💡How our money mindset influences us in being a strong personal brand
Our money mindset has been shaped by our observations and what we hear as children. How close people to us have handled money. How money shows up for you in your life is often in the predicament of how other things are happening in your life as well. And if that’s a struggle, if there’s a lot of gaps, it’ll drain through and there won’t be any profit for you. Whilst marketing our business, which is really important, we also have to look at our money mindset. How is that supporting the growth of the business?
If you’re unable to enroll clients and sell, you’ll become aware very quickly that there’s something that needs to be addressed with your money mindset. The money mindset shift comes from you, it has to start with you first to get paid what you’re worth! This is not just the 10 minutes, or the one or two hours, or however long your program is or you spent time with your client. It is the years that you’ve spent that have led you down the path where you are today. That needs to be reflected in a package you put together. This is impacting the price you charge. The investment someone is going to make in themselves through investing in your experience.

💡Lastly we also adventure into the realm of podcasting. Annemarie gives tips for starting a podcast and points out common pitfalls to avoid when doing so:
We need to imagine our podcast to be where we journey alongside our clients. Start with the end in mind, where you want to position yourself. How you’re going to be very unique right from the name of your podcast because you may just be creating a saleable asset. Also, where are you directing clients from your podcast? Is it to your email list?
Have a strong call to action to get people off the podcast onto your list so that you can continue to nurture them.
Keep this in the theme of a personal brand. Remember that you may have a topic that hundreds or even millions of other podcasts are talking about, but no one has your voice. No one has your vision, no one has your values. No one has walked your journey. No one has your life, all of those unique aspects that we know are so important make up a personal brand. Get clear on that, be intentional, and bring that forward each and every episode. That’s how you can create a unique listening experience that is distinguishable and uncopyable.
