What story are you telling yourself over and over and over again? This might be exactly what is holding you back from reaching your goals, from making your dream come true, from living a life you actually desire.
In one of my recent masterclasses “CHANGE YOUR MINDSET FROM CORPORATE EMPLOYEE TO BUSINESS OWNER AND CREATE THE LIFE YOU DESERVE” I put the focus on a very crucial part of the transition process, which is “how to dissolve the limiting beliefs that are stopping you from taking the leap to being your own boss, the face of your own company, and shine as a strong personal brand”.
I introduced the simple and powerful model “The 3 As of Change and Growth”. It is to help become aware of the situation you are in, accept it, and take action that propels and levels you up and ultimately helps you to change and grow past your limiting beliefs.
What are the 3 As and how to apply them?
These are AWARENESS, ACCEPTANCE, and ACTION.
“Awareness precedes choice and choice precedes results.” — Robin S. Sharma
- Awareness is a critical element of change as it gives you an orientation of where you are on your journey and provides you with an anchor to map out where you want to go from there.
Try this:
- Focus your attention on what’s going on around you and what feelings you are experiencing.
- When you find yourself feeling afraid or uncomfortable and moving away from awareness, make note of how you do that – are you distracting yourself, numbing yourself, or doing something else?

- Acceptance is “acknowledging what is.” It gives you the opportunity to simply change your relationship with uncomfortable thoughts and feelings. You go from resistance to acceptance.
Try this:
- Learn how to stay present
- Ask yourself: What are the facts about what ‘is’ right now, and what’s the story I’m making up?
- Choose gratitude in the presence, find the good ‘in the in the here and now’.
– A gratitude practice: take 5 minutes in the morning or evening or both and make note of what you are grateful for in your life.
“Take time to deliberate; but when the time for action arrives, stop thinking and go in.” — Andrew Jackson
- Action provides you with freedom and empowerment. Once you take action your path will unfold.
Try this:
- Be fully aware of your discomfort with the particular action step
- The action step is bite-sized-step
- Tackle one action the ‘first thing’ in your day
- Remind yourself that we all struggle with change
- Talk to someone supportive
From problem thinking into creative solving mode
“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.” — Albert Einstein
Let’s get out of the problem thinking into a creative solving kind of mode to turn limiting into empowering beliefs.
Start paying attention to your thinking. When you do so you may not always like what you find. You might want to resist, react to, or avoid your feelings at all. Don’t rush to judge. Judgment is avoidance and the antidote to acceptance. You will not be able to change your thoughts immediately. Instead, practice being compassionate with yourself and your thoughts.
Again:
- the 1st step towards change is AWARENESS.
- the 2nd step is the ACCEPTANCE that the thoughts are there.
- the 3rd step is to take ACTION. It starts by reframing your thinking. You have the power within you to take action and choose again what result you want to create with your thoughts.
Unlearning and setting yourself free from old conditioning of limiting thoughts/beliefs that prevent you from thriving is the only and most powerful way to own your brilliance and step into your courage to build your authentic personal brand as a successful business owner.
Dissolving your limiting beliefs and turning them into empowering thoughts about achieving something will activate your full potential. You will take greater action which leads to greater success in achieving your goals and your dreams as a business owner.
